Words that Inspire - An April Challenge

I never had any other desire so strong, and so like to covetousness, as that one which I have had always, that I might be master at last of a small house and a large Garden.  ~Abraham Cowley, The Garden, 1666

This is our monthly quote for April. Please take the time to reflect on this quote and at your convenience and timeframe post your own interpretation.  This could be a photo, or it could be a gardening experience you would like to share, I think just interpreting this to your place and time is what we want to read about.

I’ll be posting a new quote at the start of each month and hope that the words chosen inspire you to create your own interpretation with your garden views.

There’s only a few instructions if you would kindly follow to participate:

1)  Please Include the quote or poem at the start of your post or on the title so we (your readers) can find it easily.

2) You can use any photos old or new, or written thoughts may work with this month’s theme.

3) Please kindly link back to this meme for others to enjoy different interpretations of the theme.

4) Be creative as you can!

That’s it, are you ready for the challenge?  Well those are the words up at the top of this post, please, come share your interpretation in the comment section below.

To take a look at others interpretations of this months quote please see the comments below for the URL of the participant.

Every time I step out of the house into my LITTLE garden, I see life larger than my own little garden. ~bangchik

Noel, I'm sorry I've been very busy lately and unable to comment & visit as often as I wish. I can't make it for the exotics meme, but today, I have an entry for this. It's a butterfly laying eggs that had inspired me.

And may everyone who visits receive the Irish Blessing.

Oh, Noel, what irony in this quote for me! Wonderful words, but I am living the extremes of this. And when I say extreme, I mean it. May have to mull on this one for a while.

These are inspirational words. My own vision of Heaven includes a stone cottage by a beautiful brook with a waterfall and gardens all around. Sigh...

This is a challenging quote and I'm pondering what my response will be, my interpretation will not be as uplifting as the quote states, more later.

I live in a townhouse where it truly is a small house. My garden is as large as I can make it given the small tract of land on which it sits. I have to be a vertical gardener as a result, and have embraced cultivating Japanese morning glory (Ipomoea nil and I. purpurea). I wake up to sheer ephemeral beauty each morning in late July through the end of season, and summer mornings have never been the same.

"One more step along the road I go." Something my grandmother would always say to show how we must keep on going and learning from our experiences, whether they be in the garden, writing a garden blog or life generally. A quote that has served me well over the years. Stuart

Hi Noel,
I've posted on the last day of the month for this challenge, since I still don't have too much that's "hot, loud and proud" in my own garden. Thanks for the thoughtful quote!
