The Hot, the Loud and the Proud #2

IMG_2817

Show us your tropicals and exotics, your hot mediterranean colors and wild combinations, amazing discoveries and unusual variations. Or how about something exciting you just saw, a crazy garden,  amazing garden art or design, an inspiring visit or hike?

This meme is open to all (you do not have to live in an exotic location to participate)  and will be on the last day of each month…so mark your calendars and lets do something fun on the hot, the loud and the proud meme. I’ll have the link available early, east coast time (USA) to catch you early birds and even earlier for those of you in other countries.

Ah Noel you are up late. That plant is just absolutely amazing and to read that its pollinated by bats is so interesting. What a great post to start off your new meme.

I don't think I've ever seen anything else in nature quite that shade of green Noel. It is intriguing! Having the bats pollinating it would also be a different sight in the garden!

It's hard to be Tropical in a temperate zone in March, but I managed. Thanks for starting this meme. Love the orchids, always.

Noel, I have joined this meme, it appeals to me. I saw it on "floridagirls" blog.
The jade vine is amazing, I saw it first in Cairns in the botanical gardens. I was enchanted when I saw it.

It *is* amazing, Noel! Thank you so much for sharing. That color is spectacular, and your photos are breathtaking. I can imagine it must be almost shocking to see those huge clusters of flowers live in the landscape, dangling from a tree, the very first time (and maybe a few times afterward).

Hello Noel,

What a great meme! I have to put it on my calendar for next month....I ran out of time this month. I love the blue jade vine - it is seriously out of this world - such a unique flower. Thank you for sharing this beautiful plant.

Thanks for visiting, I arrived here looking for your sweet photo (photohunt) but this Jade Vine made my day! I've just seen this plant last month in my local botanic garden so it was not a total stranger, it's an amazing plant indeed. Thanks so much for sharing these photos and info, I had no idea it could be found in red as well... :)

That Jade plant look so mystical.

Thanks for the invitation.
I had just send in the post in your link.
(Wonder if I got it right, whether its awaiting approval or something)

That is a very pretty and lively Jade vine. My Jade vines are not doing well. They're thin, slow-growing and haven't flowered yet. My Red Jade vine on the other hand is thriving well and has already bloomed several times.
